Privilege of the Floor is available for district residents to speak to the Board of Education at the beginning and end of Board of Education meetings. The policy for Privilege of the Floor is as follows:
“Persons wishing to speak should first be recognized by the President, then identify themselves. Any group or organization wishing to address the Board must identify a single spokesperson.
Comments shall be brief and concise, generally not exceeding four (4) minutes in length per speaker, which may be extended at the discretion of the Board President. Each Privilege of the Floor session is not to exceed 32 minutes in length. Speakers may comment on matters related to District business only.
The Board will not permit in public session discussions involving individual district personnel, by name or by title, or students. Persons wishing to discuss matters involving individual District personnel or students should present their comments and/or concerns to the Superintendent during regular business hours.
All speakers are to conduct themselves in a civil manner. Obscene language, libelous statements, threats of violence, statements advocating racial, religious, or other forms of prejudice will not be tolerated.
